If you want your bootstrapped business to survive, you need to become a marketing genius. And I'm going to show you why this is an undeniable fact of solopreneur ship, and more importantly, what is the proven protocol that you can follow to become so in record time? Let's get to it.

[INTRO] Hey, I'm Leon Castillo, founder of Selfmastered high performance training company that helps entrepreneurs scale their businesses by solving their solid bottleneck, their own performance, which transformed the unproductive, overwhelming and focus entrepreneurs into laser focus business athletes that can achieve in one day, what they previously achieved in one week.

So listen, this video is about one of the hardest lessons that I have ever learned in business, it took me a few months to realize that the only way of making self master sustainable as a bootstrap business, remember that I decided to not raise money for this was to become a marketing genius. And I come from the finance world. And before that, I was an architect. So I've never had any marketing education in my life. So I started buying a lot of marketing books $1,000 spent on marketing courses, just to have an understanding of how to best market submaster.

And now we have senior business people from the US asking us who is the person in charge of the marketing, and what is the external agency that we use if we happen to use and we don't. So I think this story of mine actually proves that I can give you a few good pointers that you can use to become Marketing Wizards, and actually drive the growth your business deserves.

So if you think about it, there's no way a solopreneur can survive in business without being a marketing genius, because marketing drives growth and without growth business die. And since you're a solopreneur, or you have a bootstrap business, you will have a hard time at least in the beginning, hiring people and then getting tasks to them.

You cannot afford high caliber marketing talent because it is very expensive. So you need to learn it yourself. In order to be super effective. Let me give you a crucial mindset shift that some people get too late in their careers that will make everything easier for you and is that you are not in the business of selling products or services, you are in the business of finding problems and providing solutions sounds simple, but it's incredibly powerful.

Because most people in business are obsessively focused on selling one more widget one more course one more mentorship, what they should be selling is an actual solution to problems.

And once you internalize this, marketing becomes way easier because it's just a matter of finding a problem solving a problem and serving a community. And this is a mental model that you need to keep front and center. When trying to become a marketing wizard. at its purest sense.

Marketing is about understanding a problem educating someone on the solution of that problem, and then increasing the desire of that person to get the solution of the problem from you and not from someone else. That's what marketing is about. So everything starts and ends with the problem the clients have.

Now before we get into what is the protocol that I'm following to become a marketing wizard, remember to like, subscribe and hit the bell not only because all the people will definitely benefit from this video, and your subscription will help in the spread of the video. But also because we're running promotions to subscribers that have the bell on so if you don't have it, you will miss out and don't want to miss out on it.

So what's the protocol? Step one, gain the markets trust and how do you gain it by being the person that is able to diagnose the problems of the niche in the best possible manner, you need to niche down as much as you can, until you effectively become the person that knows more about that problem than anybody else. Even those that are actually facing the problem, you need to be a doctor that is able to perform the most accurate diagnosis of the problem so that you inherently become the authority in the niche.

Now step two, once you understand what the problem is, you need to set a vision, what is the vision that you can create with your service and your products for that community? If that community has this problems, how will they evolve once they have worked with you? What will they become once they have gone through your program or your products, that vision is what's going to propel them forward. So it needs to be very clear, very precise, and it needs to be achievable, ideally, with your product or service.

Then step number three, create a story or share your story. don't invent it, share it, the most important asset in your business is your story. Why did you become interested in the problem? Why did you start working in that niche? That's crucially important because it's not only going to summon your authority, but it's also going to give you a reputation the more you share your story. It has to be a true story that The easier is going to be for those that you want to serve to relate to you. And the more they relate, the easier they will be having results with your product and your service. So for you need to create a persona as a trusted adviser for champion of your clients.

So once you have your myth, because you have shared your story, you solidify that by creating a persona that is always willing to provide the best possible solution for those clients. So first come the story.

And then comes the persona five, you need to be prolific and also controversial. So you do not need to create a plain vanilla persona that stands for nothing. If you are true authority on a niche, you know things about the niche that probably they don't even know themselves and people outside of the niche will have no clue about it.

So your role is to be prolific, and if necessary, controversial. Share your ideas, share your raw thoughts, rally your clients around you so that they understand that you are on their side that you are not there just to sell stuff, you're there to help them because the more you help, the better will be for them, but also for yourself. So don't hide quite the contrary, become prolific become preeminent in the eyes of your clients.

And six, create a community led those clients that you've helped in the past and those that you haven't had the chance to help yet rally together around your ideas around your personality around your persona around your vision for that niche. This is why it is so important to actually find a niche that you are passionate about, that you have a story that relates to it that you can craft an authority persona for many years because over time, you're going to be building a community that is going to be like tailwinds for your business and your vision.

So I hope this was useful to me understanding this and creating this mental model has been crucial in the growth of Selfmastered. We're not in the business of selling we're in the business of helping the most important thing we can do in order to make sure that we survive is that we understand the province are going through in such a deep level that they have no choice but to trust us and get results with the results that we provide and get results with the products and services that we offer.

And this is marketing 101. And I highly encourage you to go deeper into your market research and be more prolific in how much and how often you share your thoughts and opinions to the marketplace because this will eventually create a mythological persona as a trusted adviser to your clients and also generate a community in the years to come
